ABOUT ABOUT

"Let's Talk About It" is a countywide campaign aimed at decreasing the stigma associated with mental illness by encouraging education and early identification of mental health symptoms in children and young adults so that steps toward recovery can be made sooner.

The presentation includes:

  • Mental health facts & current statistics of children and teens who face mental health challenges
  • Negative effects if mental illness goes untreated
  • Common warning signs and symptoms of mental illness, who can help, what to say, and how to connect with other individuals experiencing similar challenges for support
  • Live testimonials from individuals who have "lived experience" who share their personal struggles and successes with mental health
    • Andy Kerr, a Motivational Speaker and Life Coach, will share his personal stories of life with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
    • A parent from the Family Caregiver Alliance will share their family's journey
  • Formal and informal supports and services available at your school or close to home
  • FREE handouts
